Pilates

Jenna is an APPI trained Pilates instructor, she has extensive training and experience with using Pilates for pelvic health, pregnancy, menopause and osteoporosis.

At pelvic health physio we can offer 1:1 sessions of 45 minutes or an hour, this is an individualised and bespoke session to meet your goals and needs. It is most beneficial to book a course of sessions, we suggest 6 to gain the most benefits. Book your first session online, and at this session Jenna can plan your needs for further sessions.

If you have a friend or two that would like to experience the huge benefits of pilates together, we can offer small group sessions of up to 5 people. Please contact us directly to book these and to plan them to suit your group goals.

Pilates for pelvic floor health

Pilates-based exercises in women’s health encourage the pelvic floor muscles to activate along with the deep tummy muscles to build up the stability and strength of your trunk. A well-supported trunk will help to protect your spine and may lessen low back pain. The pelvic floor muscles should not be held tight all the time, but be encouraged to work normally as part of good postural control.

If you feel your pelvic symptoms are preventing you from enjoying the active hobbies you love, Jenna can help you build the technique, strength and confidence needed to become more active in ways you enjoy.

She has used Pilates to help women return to running, weightlifting, dance, hill walking as well as feel much more comfortable throughout the day.
